What we collect

Organizers: your email address, display name, and anything you choose to add to your profile or event pages.
Attendees: the name and email you enter when you RSVP, plus answers to any custom questions the organizer added, and whether you attended.
Everyone: basic technical logs (IP address, browser) needed to keep the service running and secure.

How it's used

RSVP data is used to run the event you RSVP'd to: showing the organizer their guest list, managing capacity and the waitlist, and sending event emails (confirmation, reminders, waitlist promotion, cancellations). That's it.

Who can see your RSVP

The organizer of that event, and no one else — unless the organizer turns on a public guest list, in which case attendee display names appear on the event page. Email addresses are never shown publicly. Attendees of one event are not visible to organizers of another.

What we don't do

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. We do not add you to marketing lists because you RSVP'd to someone's event. Organizers may not use COTTERIE to send unrelated marketing.

Service providers

We use third parties strictly to operate the service: cloud hosting and database, and an email delivery provider for transactional messages. They process data on our instructions only.

Retention and deletion

Attendee records live as long as the event does. When an organizer deletes an event, its registrations and answers are deleted with it. Every RSVP email includes a manage link where you can update or cancel your RSVP, and every non-essential email includes an unsubscribe link. To delete your account and everything attached to it, email us and we'll action it.

Cookies

We set the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
